Julie stays up to date with the latest scientific research information and exercises. This way she helps the client prevent injury and helps them reach their fitness goals in a timely manner. Julie uses exercises that target the specific areas of concern as well as setting up routines that challenge every muscle in the body. For me it was strengthening the lower core in order to support herniated discs in the lower back. Julie includes exercises that can be done in any environment with or without equipment in order to accommodate those who do not have time to go to the gym.

Julie is knowledgeable in nutrition and encourages the clients, in a positive manner, to make small changes in their diet in order to maximize the effort they exert in their workouts. She never uses demeaning language or judges the client in any way.

“I became acquainted with Julie Meltzer at my local YMCA pool when she started teaching arthritis water classes. In the ten years that I have been taking these classes, I have had many instructors, but Julie was the very best teacher in all that time.

I wanted to improve my balance and strength. When I learned that she was a physical trainer, I asked if she worked with older people. She said yes and consented to help me.

Julie came to my home once a week for fourteen weeks up until the time she moved from San Diego. Each week she brought equipment and showed me how to use what was in my home. The exercises were varied, challenging, and appropriate for me. She wrote down detailed instructions for the exercises so that I could repeat them on my own during the week.
